Anchored in Morning Light – Old Leigh, invites you into the stillness of a February dawn on the Essex coast. Fishing boats lie tethered in the estuary mudflats, their silhouettes dark against a glowing horizon. The rising sun spills gold and amber across the water, softening the edges of masts and hulls, while cloud bands drift in gentle contrast overhead.
This fine art photograph captures the quiet pause before the working day begins, when Old Leigh’s harbour rests between tide and labour. There is a subtle tension here: the industry of fishing boats, nets and ropes set against the transience of light and sky. You are drawn to the play of reflection in the water’s surface, a reminder that moments such as these are fleeting, held only in memory or image.
A meditative view; a balance of human presence and natural rhythm, that brings both tranquillity and depth to any living or working space.
