Wildfire – Abstract Artwork in Water-Based Wax Crayon

With this piece, the work took me in an unexpected direction marks making and colour collided resulting in wildfire an expression of untamed energy. The fiery reds, oranges, and yellows erupt against the cooler blues and purples, creating a sense of tension and harmony. This artwork, titled *Wildfire*, is part of a 10-piece series created over two months, exploring the unique medium of water-based wax crayons. Each piece in the series is a study in spontaneity, where layers of colour and texture interact to evoke emotion and imagination.

The process was experimental: I applied the wax crayons, then manipulated them with water, pouring and tilting the canvas to achieve organic, unpredictable effects. The result is a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, structure and fluidity. Wildfire invites you to explore its depths, to lose yourself in the vibrant chaos and find your own meaning within it. It’s for those who appreciate art that feels alive, bold, and deeply personal.
